It was still warm as he took his favorite eating knife and began to cut into it slowly. The juice spilled out onto the plate, coating a few of the potatoes on the plate in the reddish brown liquid. Green parsley offset the brown with black grill marks that formed the cut of meat that he now gingerly lifted into his mouth. He closed his teeth around it and began chewing thoughtfully. The flavors blended in his mouth and he let out a sigh through his nostrils. The chefs here were really quite good. He supposed however that they had to be.
Victor Braun was 5'11" with jet black hair. He had a well cut form, from hours of working out, but very little weight on his body, due to his high metabolism. His eyes were as black as his hair, which fell into his eyes, causing him to brush it away as he popped one of the sweet potato fries into his mouth, then washed it down with a gulp of Sierra Mist. He let out another hiss of breath and observed the room. He sat alone, playing the emo kid in the corner, just watching and waiting. He would learn the rules here and then bend them to his will... but he needed to know them first. He waited and watched, wondering if anyone would sit down with him.

Ana walked through the lunch room with her tray of food, she was talking to Jara about the book that they had been reading that morning and sat at the table that had looked empty without really paying attention. She looked around only after she'd gotten half way through her small bag of chips, which sat next to her peanut butter and orange sandwich with toasted bread. She looked at the black-haired boy and then down, thinking that she needed to be more attentive and that it was good that she hadn't said anything out loud and looked like a freak - wait, this was the school for freaks, so it wouldn't be quite so bad.
Jara was laughing inside their head and watching her easily. Ana smiled weakly at the boy and then looked back down, blushing because she was shy and now flustered. she went back to eating slowly whole Cara soft urged her to ask his name and be polite.

Victor took another bite of steak and nodded to the girl. He gave off a warm smile as he spoke. "Well I suppose the only way a beautiful girl such as yourself would sit here is if I had taken your table. I make my humble apologies my damsel, my name is Victor and I am new here... may I have the honor of knowing your name?" He had his charm on full power, he wanted to make as many friends in this new place as he possibly could.

Ana looked at him and almost gagged on the chip in her mouth. Was he really trying to sweet talk her? Really? that's weird... Analise swallowed her food and looked at the poor boy, she thought he was cutely pitiful. "I'm... Analise... A- Analise Dawnhawk..." She moved to extend her hand, which was wrapped in a black lace glove, as picked out by Knox himself. It matched the lace on the hemming of her shirt and her back leggings. Her brown hair fell over her shoulders in loose curls and her bangs were strangely parted, the left side swooped over to rest over a pair of red wire rimmed glasses.

He took her hand in his and brought it to his lips, gently. "It's very nice to meet you Analise. Is there anyway I can apologize for taking your table? Any way I can make it up to you? How about dinner? Tonight?" He said, with a sincere smile on his face. "Unless of course your busy... in which case I understand." He said knowingly. She really was cute. He pressed his free hand against the hilt of his dagger and pushed it to the back of his belt, behind his jacket. The black leather jacket, which had been made just for him, held over two dozen throwing knives of various sizes that were kept concealed. And for that reason, he didn't ever take it off. Unless the door was locked... but that was different.

Ana could help the girly giggle that left her mouth. She covered her mouth with the back of her free hand. "I'm not busy, I'm still n- new here, too... Just got in a few days ago..." she said softly, letting him think he was swooning her, then she'd slip in her title and maybe he'd back off. Because she knew that moth Nymphos - even the sweet talker ones, joined the Winter Court.
Ana moved her hand from his grasp and continued to eat her chips slowly, just waiting for him to talk again, because she really didn't want to talk anymore after her next words, "And it's not my table, I just sat here because I thought it was empty..."

He nodded slowly. She was either playing shy or she was leading him on. Either way he would deal. He nodded slowly. "Then you will join me for dinner?" He said with a bit of hope edged into his voice. He wanted to simply get to know her, after not having even spoken with a girl in so long. And if she wanted more... he could provide. He took another bite of his steak, and watched her, allowing his body to show his interest as he smiled at her. He did however, ignore her other comment, because it seemed that she was hinting that she wanted to be alone... and he wanted the exact opposite.

Analise moved her hands together as he talked. pulling her gloves off slowly so as not to get crumbs on them as she ate her sandwich. She got halfway through it before she said one thing in a soft tone, "Maybe." Then she finished her food and opened her bottle of water, so as to wash it down.
Jara asked to take over now. Ana nodded her head, to him it was a random gesture, and she closed her eyes, opening them to by more hard and less guarded. She slouched in her seat with one leg crossed easily over the other, her tall stripper heels glinting in the light a little, being polished to a gleam by one of the lower nobles because he wanted to. Men were creepy.

He finished his food, and continued to sip on his drink. He noted the change of posture slightly and let out a gently smile. He watched her and decided she was just shy. "What would convince you to offer up more than a maybe Fair Analise?" He said softly. "With my being new here... I would like to make as many friends as I can." He smiled again and watched her. Something was different all of a sudden, and he quickly remembered that he was in an asylum of sorts... what was this girl's problem....

Ja laughed softly and looked at him. "Make few but close friends around here, hmm? It's much smarter that way. Less people to use you later on," Jara's voice was slightly lower then the other two girls and her demeanor was more relaxed then theirs. She looked at him sternly before she took a swig of water from her bottle and tapped her foot on the floor. She loved the feel of her boots under her heel after so long of not being able to wear them.

Victor nodded carefully. He eyed her with a new sense of things, watching as her posture changed. Gone was the shy little flower he had been talking to, and now a girl who's tone was different, more confident. "And why is that Analise?" He knew the values of a few good friends, but he wanted to know her exact reasons for saying what she did.

Ja lent closer to him and blew a little at his face. "Well, Mister New Kid, with money comes power and with power comes manipulation to get more, backstabbing to ensure that you get what you want and careful planning of your course of action in order to achieve as much glory as you can before your downfall. This school is the exact epitome of that." She kissed his cheek teasingly before she lent back in her chair and slung one arm over the back of it, just looking at him. Her eyes memorized his face, so she knew to keep an eye out for him, because he seemed as stupid as he was leading her to believe, so he didn't know who Ana was in the Shadow Court.

He shot her a seductive glance and smiled. "You give good advice. But I have found that money is not the power that exists. For example... if I offered you five hundred dollars to sleep with me, you would most likely turn it down. And rightfully so. And that proves that money is not the truest form of power, as it cannot cover everything and everyone. As for the manipulation..." He leaned close to her and stopped a few inches from her lips. "Everyone manipulates... it just a question of how far one will go to get what one wants..." He smiled again. "So tell me Analise... what do you want?" He said with a soft purr.

Jara looked at him and lent back her hand pressed to his mouth and pushing hi back into his chair. she was stronger then she looked. She closed her eyes and giggled softly. "I want you to keep back form me." The woman moved her seat a little closer to his, so she could lean on her hand, which she put on his knee. "I'm the only one allowed to tease in this situation." Jara said in a breathy tone, her eyes half lidded. She was having fun, almost too much as she "forgot" to mention that she wasn't Ana, but rather Jara.

He nodded slowly. "I can accept that... unless that's all you plan to do." He cocked an eyebrow to one side and he put his hand over hers on his knee. Her tone sent a shiver up his back and he let out a slow hiss of breath. His pulse quickened and blood started to flow to his extremities. He was rather taken aback by her sudden change, and he was quite aware that things were not as they seemed to be, but he was quite happy to let things just go for the moment. Until she decided to leave him blueballed... if she did that, she would find out that he wasn't the type to stand for that without a fight.
